Hello,
My name is Lori Weninger and I am the K-2 teacher at Yucca Elementary. I moved to Kingman right after graduating in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin EauClaire, in 1985. I wanted to get away from the cold Midwest winters and enjoy a warmer climate and I love it here! A few years after moving to Arizona, I received my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at NAU.
Since moving to Kingman, I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a multi-age class of K-2 students. At the end of 2023, I retired from Manzanita Elementary where I taught for 38 wonderful years! However, I still wanted to fulfill my passion for teaching and was looking for something different when the position in Yucca became available. I felt as if I needed to be a part of this amazing school. I love the smaller classes and the friendly staff- people who no doubt put their whole hearts into teaching and caring for the students at Yucca Elementary! I am so happy to be a part of this team!
A little about me… I have been married for 32 years and have two daughters who live in Phoenix and Tucson. I love to visit them (and my grandpets) as well as hike, camp, go 4-wheeling, garden, and refurbish old treasures and furniture.
I am so happy to be a part of Yucca Elementary. It brings me great joy to help students learn and succeed each day. I believe in making learning fun with hands-on activities, learning games, movement and songs. Every day is a new learning adventure for both the students and myself.
