My name is Bill Hammond. I teach 6, 7 and 8th grades here at Yucca Elementary. I have also served as a substitute teacher for Kingman Unified Public Schools. Prior to this, I spent the majority of my professional career in vice president and other executive leadership roles in higher education, serving at five different universities in four different states. I have a master’s degree in Business (MBA).
My wife and I have three adult sons. Two of our sons served in the U.S. Navy and our third son is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. She and I bought property in Yucca in 2016 and we’ve lived here full time since 2020. My dad, brother, and I are all veterans of the US Navy. My dad was a two-tour Vietnam War Veteran where he served on river patrol boats (PBR). I served aboard USS Proteus (AS-19) homeported in Agana, Guam and then Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 3 in Port Hueneme, California.
I couple real-world life experience with classroom curriculum to result in a more well-rounded student. I believe in teaching students how to think – not what to think. I’m a proud American. I'm committed to recognizing our past while remaining unfailingly optimistic about our future.
