GOVERNING BOARD CLERK--Karon Lamkin

Having raised four children on my own, I relocated to Yucca. After five years, my two grandsons came to live with me and attend the Kingman school district. With my grandsons, we started to become involved in the Yucca community. Once my grandsons moved on, I started to become even more involved--starting with the Friends for Yucca. I started to realize that there were far more children in the area than I had known. Everyone I talked to raved about the local elementary school. I had always been a child advocate. Being able to be involved in helping to form a child's future not only brings great pleasure, but also a great feeling of accomplishment. My history is in Nursing of 30 years. I was also a small business owner. Which allowed me to become familiar with budgets and planning guidelines. There is no greater achievement than helping a child to reach success. I hope the small part I play will the the children of Yucca to be able to succeed. --Karon Lamkin

GOVERNING BOARD PRESIDENT--Susie Gould

My life is about kids. Even when I was in school, the most important thing I wanted was a family. I married a wonderful man and we had two daughters. Our two daughters gave us four amazing granddaughters. And so far, two of our granddaughters have given us 2 amazing great-grandsons. But that is not really the story. Due to divorce, problems, etc., we have helped to raise our four granddaughters. Due to the divorce, one of our granddaughters and her son live with us while she works and goes to college. Once again, that really isn't the story either. You see, my husband Walt and I have always been about kids. Our house was full of kids and their friends from the beginning of their school years. My husband coached basketball I taught dance and coached gymnastics for over 25 years. every child that we ever had, has always been liker our own. I still keep in touch with many of my gymnastic team. I am very proud to say that all of my team girls were 4.0 GPA students. They have become mothers and career women. They are family. we just love children. Our children grew up hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, boating, active in sports, church and so on. Their friends even came too. I have said many times that I should have been a teacher because I love teaching what I know. Therefore, when asked to run for the School Board of Yucca Elementary I jumped at the chance. I cannot do what I used to, but certainly look out for a good education and school experience four our children it is about keeping them safe and giving them the best education that we possibly can. Education is the most important thing in their lives. So, I thank you for this awesome opportunity to serve the school and community and give us all Yucca Children to be proud of. Kids that will go on to excel in whatever life leads them to. Kids are inspired to strive for more...because much awaits!

God Bless Them,
Susie Gould
