Having raised four children on my own, I relocated to Yucca. After five years, my two grandsons came to live with me and attend the Kingman school district. With my grandsons, we started to become involved in the Yucca community. Once my grandsons moved on, I started to become even more involved--starting with the Friends for Yucca. I started to realize that there were far more children in the area than I had known. Everyone I talked to raved about the local elementary school. I had always been a child advocate. Being able to be involved in helping to form a child's future not only brings great pleasure, but also a great feeling of accomplishment. My history is in Nursing of 30 years. I was also a small business owner. Which allowed me to become familiar with budgets and planning guidelines. There is no greater achievement than helping a child to reach success. I hope the small part I play will the the children of Yucca to be able to succeed.
